Elizabeth G Sunset

Our cruises start at the beautiful town of Alesund, which has water on all sides, canals and bridges and stunning Jugend Style architecture. Having been met at the airport you will board the Elizabeth G at the quayside and have a complimentary drink onboard before we set off to the Island of Runde the most famous seabird colony in Norway, here we will spend our first night.

Whilst we have no set itinerary we will then head south round the famous Stad or Vestkapp Point with its stunning seacliffs and down to Selje to spend our second night. We will visit the Island of Selja steeped in religious history and explore the famous Selje Monastry, built by Benedictine monks in the 12th century in honour of St. Sunniva – the tower still survives. The St. Sunniva cave contains remains of walls and traces of the first church dedicated to the Archangel Michael

Our final morning we gently cruise down to the famous city of Bergen where we will spend our final night moored up alongside the area of Bryggen in Bergen. As we do not serve Dinner on the last night this gives everyone time to explore this beautiful city, with it famous Fish Market. It has a wealth of things to see and do. It was named European Capital of Culture in 2000. It has good restaurants, bars, shops, Museums and halls such as the Greig Hall, which is home to the Norwegian Brass Band Championshiops.

Please note that the places mentioned above are for guidance and it may well be that we visit other areas, Islands and villages. This sometimes depends on the weather but we often discuss our next days plans over Dinner the night before, our expert guide giving everyone information on where they might like to go or to what they might like to see. This gives everyone options, in an easy going and informal atmosphere. There are simply hundreds of beautiful and stunning locations in this part of Norway and we would hope to show you some of the best. The Elizabeth G is a very agile boat due to her size so access to these remote islands is easily achieved in both comfort and safety. She also has a 10 person landing craft ideal for landing on the small islands and islets that are just waiting to be explored.

On our day of departure guests would kindly be asked to leave the Elizabeth G by 10.00 hours and will be driven back to the Airport if needed by our guide.

One thing you can be assured of on all our cruises is excellent food, using as much as possible, fresh locally sourced ingredients. With the skipper being a Commercial Diver there is a very strong possibility of Scallops on the menu as well as other fresh seafood.

We will do our best to give you a great cruising experience with the ability to get into the more remoter parts of this region of Norway that ships such as the Hurtigruten cannot. With a maximum of twelve guests we hope this will be in a friendly, informal and intimate atmosphere.
